Wellbeing services county of Central Ostrobothnia Soite is responsible of the social and health care as well as rescue services in the area. Soite arranges public social and health care services as well as rescue services in eight municipalities in Central Ostrobothnia area: Kokkola, Kannus, Toholampi, Kaustinen, Veteli, Halsua, Perho and Lestijärvi. Central Ostrobothnia Central Hospital is the nearest on-call hospital for approximately 200,000 citizens. Around 4000 employees from different fields work in Soite, most of them are nurses and doctors.
