Acting on behalf of another person
In Soite, it is possible to act on behalf of another person by issuing an authorisation for managing affairs, or with the consent of a child/adolescent.
A power of attorney may be granted by an adult who has legal capacity. If a patient/client has memory problems, has an intellectual disability or is otherwise unable to understand the significance of a power of attorney, the Local Register Office (maistraatti) must be contacted to appoint a guardian. By power of attorney, the patient/client may also authorise a private service provider, such as a provider of home care, to manage their affairs.
If you wish, you can cancel the authorisation by notifying the social welfare and health care unit in writing, for example using the form for revocation of the power/letter of attorney or by submitting a free-form written notification.

Suomi.fi e-Authorizations and assisted authorisation
At Soite’s authorisation points, you can authorise a trusted person to manage your affairs in health care, social welfare and at the pharmacy. The service is intended for people who do not have digital identification tools such as online banking codes. The authorisations are saved in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.

The service provided by Soite has been designed together with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency, which produces Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.
