Data protection
The primary purpose of social welfare client records and health care patient records is to provide services to clients and care to patients. These records are classified as confidential under the Act on the Status and Rights of Patients and the Act on the Status and Rights of Social Welfare Clients.
Obligation of secrecy
Every employee/student in Soite signs a confidentiality and user agreement. By doing so, they agree to comply with data protection and information security instructions and to process personal data about patients, clients and staff with care in their work. They are not allowed to disclose patient or client data to third parties, meaning those who are not involved in arranging or providing the care or service. The obligation of secrecy continues even after the employment relationship/a student’s practical training has ended.
Soite’s staff also ask clients and patients to show discretion in this important matter, so that they too keep any information they become aware of concerning fellow clients/patients confidential.

Log data and the disclosure of it
Soite must collect log data on the use of the patient or client data system and on the disclosure of data. The log data on processing information is used to verify the use of the personal data file. The disclosure log records information on disclosures of data from the personal data file.
