The neuropsychiatric team functions as part of Soite’s outpatient clinic for children and adolescents. Patients come for examinations based on a referral from a doctor or based on a request for a consultation from within the hospital.
The neuropsychiatric team is a multi-professional team consisting of a doctor, psychologist, occupational therapist, rehabilitation planner and rehabilitation counselor.
The objectives of the team are:
- coordinating examinations and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders
- provide parental guidance and service close to families
- provide consultation to schools and day-care centres.
The neuropsychiatric team cooperates with other services for children and adolescents (e.g. schools, school health care, family counselling clinics) and, if necessary, provides services close to where they are needed and provides consultative service in the child’s immediate environment.
