Coronavirus vaccination
Coronavirus vaccinations are available to all persons who live in Soite’s area. A vaccination appointment can be booked by phone or online.
Coronavirus vaccinations are now progressing with regards to all persons over the age of 5 who live in Soite’s area.

Vaccines
Soite gives vaccine doses 1-5. You may get your vaccine dose at any of Soite’s vaccination sites.
Soite’s vaccination sites offer Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine. When it comes to other vaccines (Moderna, Spikevax, Nuvaxovid, Jansen), please call beforehand.
According to policy by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare THL, it is recommended that a vaccination series with an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna) is primarily completed using the same vaccine, but it is possible to use different mRNA vaccines in a vaccination series.
A vaccination appointment must be booked in advance either online or by phone. Even a vaccination of a 5-11-year-old child must be booked in advance. Walk-in vaccinations are no longer organized. Instead, vaccinations are only given at booked appointments.
Booking an appointment for a coronavirus vaccination
You can book a vaccination appointment by phone or online.
- electronic appointment booking in the My Healthcare service is open 24/7.
- Log on to the My Healthcare service with your online bank user identifiers (or some other means of strong identification) in order to book an appointment for yourself.
- The days that still have appointments available are marked with green colour in the web calendar.
- You can book an appointment for another person if you have made an agreement regarding this.
- Telephone booking via your local health centre.
The electronic booking works more smoothly and we recommend that appointments are booked online if possible.
Other information about appointment booking
You can book an appointment via the electronic My Healthcare service if you have identifiers that are needed for electronic identification (online bank user identifiers or a mobile ID). If electronic identification is not possible, the appointment must be booked by phone.
If an informal caregiver or partner who lives in the same household is vaccinated at the same time, the appointment should be booked by phone for both persons.
We ask persons close to elderly persons to make sure the elderly get an appointment for a vaccination and are able to come to the vaccination site.
The electronic booking system shows, which vaccination sites have available vaccination appointments. Vaccination appointments are always opened for several weeks at once.
Please note!
If you have previously had an anaphylactic shock, please book your vaccination appointment to your own health care centre or via the secretary at Soite’s vaccination central, phone 040 804 2821, Monday to Friday 9 am to 2 pm.
The next vaccine dose can be given when enough time has passed since the previous dose. The interval between vaccinations depends on the age and risk group. The vaccination information is checked at the vaccination site and if enough time has not passed since the previous vaccine dose, a new vaccine dose cannot yet be given.
Consent of the guardians for the vaccination of a child
Under aged persons may decide themselves if they want a coronavirus vaccine, if the health care professional administering the vaccine assesses that the child or young person is sufficiently mature to decide on the matter on their own based on their age and development level. In the legislation, no legal age limit has been set for a child’s independent decision, which is why the situation is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. For most of those aged 5–11, the consent of their guardians is required for a vaccination.
If a child is unable make a decision on their own about a vaccination or does not want to decide for themselves, the consent of all guardians is required for the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccinations are voluntary and free of charge. Consent can be given with this form in Finnish or with this Swedish language form.
If the child comes for their vaccination with only one guardian, the guardian who is absent must have signed the consent form. The consent form can be printed off of THL’s (Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare) website (the form is available in Finnish and in Swedish).
Vaccination sites
You can choose to which vaccination site you book your appointment:
- The vaccination site on Mariankatu (Kokkola main health care station, Mariankatu 28, entrance A)
- Kannus health care centre (Lopotinkatu 2)
- Toholampi health care centre (Sairaalantie 2)
- Tunkkari vaccination site (Tunkkari health care station, Mäntöläntie 2, Veteli)
- Perho (the health care station, Vanhainkodintie 20, 69950 Perho)
At this point, it is possible to book an appointment only to these vaccination sites.
Please note when you come for a vaccination:
- Come for a vaccination only if you are healthy.
- Take your Kela card with you and take it out while you wait.
- Wear clothes that make it easy to expose your upper arm.
- Use a face mask and disinfect your hands when you come and when you go.
- Keep a safe distance (2 metres) to other people while you wait.
- Be prepared to stay at the vaccination site for 15 minutes after the vaccination.
Coronavirus vaccinations are voluntary and free of charge for everyone. COVID-19 vaccines offer effective protection against the COVID-19 disease and especially its severe forms. According to current knowledge, COVID-19 vaccines also work against mutated virus variants (source: THL).
