Seeking out psychiatric services
You can seek out mental health services within the primary health care services by calling the adult psychiatry outpatient services’ helpline for advice and assessment. You can seek out psychiatric specialized health care with a doctor’s referral.
The Psychiatric Services Chat
The psychiatric services chat is available on the soite.fi website on weekdays from 9 am to 11 am. The service is intended for people over 18 years of age. The psychiatric services chat offers a low-threshold contact channel to psychiatric services when you need support for mental health problems or life crises.
In the psychiatric services chat, you can chat anonymously and in real time with a nurse. Soite’s professionals provide guidance and advice in the chat, without rush. In healthcare-related matters, the professional may ask you to identify yourself via the suomi.fi service, after which a more accurate assessment of your mental health can be made. As support for the assessment, you may be directed to fill in the Therapy Navigator questionnaire.
The Therapy Navigator
If you wish, you can fill out the Therapy Navigator form (available in English) before contacting the mental health services. The questions in the Therapy Navigator are used to examine the nature of your mental health symptoms and treatment-related needs.
You cannot book appointments with the mental health services through the Therapy Navigator service. After filling out the questionnaire, you can familiarize yourself with the self-help programs at Terveyskylä’s Mielenterveystalo site or contact the advice and evaluation phone line for the outpatient psychiatric services for adults and tell them that you have filled out the Teherapy Navigator questionnaire.
