You must make an appointment for vaccination in advance online via DigiSoite’s Omahoito service:

  • Digital appointment booking online in the Omahoito service at: https://soite.terveytesi.fi is open 24/7. Free times are shown in green in the online calendar.

You must log in to the digital Omahoito service with your own online banking credentials (or other strong identification), before you can book an appointment for yourself or someone under 12 years old. More information (in Finnish and Swedish) about doing this on someone else’s behalf in Soite: https://soite.fi/asiointiopas/asiakkaan-ja-potilean-oikecht/toisen-puolesta-asiointi/ (only in Finnish).

A minor can decide for themselves about their coronavirus vaccination if the healthcare professional administering the vaccine assesses that the child based on their age and level of development is able to decide this. The law does not specify an age limit for a child’s independent decision, and therefore the matter is assessed on a case-by-case basis. For most 5-11-year-olds, the consent of their guardians is required for vaccination. Consent is given using this consent form.

The coronavirus vaccine given to 5-11-year-olds is BioNTech-Pfizer’s Comirnaty, of which a preparation with a lower dose specifically intended for this age group is used. More information about coronavirus vaccinations on Soite’s website: https://soite.fi/en/coronavirus/coronavirus-vaccines/
