The citizens in the area can use digital services at digital service points. The points also offer personal digital support about once a week.
The content on this page
The digital service points are available to residents free of charge and without booking an appointment. At a digital service point, the residents have access to the necessary terminals and telecommunication connections, as well as support material for how to use online services.

Soite’s digital assistants bring digital help close to the clients
The digital assistants at the day activity centre Kompassi and the day activity centre in Lestijokilaakso within Soite’s disability services, offer digital assistance free of charge at the digital service points, and clients can also order the digital help they offer home in Kokkola and Toholampi.
The digital assistants help with basic IT issues, such as installing and setting up devices, and also provide services at day activity centres. The services include digitizing slides and negatives as well as updating and recycling devices.
The digital assistants at the day activity centre Kompassi within Soite’s disability services offer help and guidance concerning basic IT issues in the central areas of Kokkola.

Digital assistance at home
It is possible to book digital assistants for a home visit to do assisting and updating IT work in your home. The digital assistants can help you for example install your printer or set up your TV.
The digital assistance at home is a paid service.
Digitizing slides and negatives at Kompassi
In addition to digital assistance, the digital assistants at Kompassi digitize slides and negatives, i.e. make them digital. When pictures have been made digital, it is possible to look at them on a smartphone or a computer, to send them to others or to have them be made into photos. The service is subject to a fee and the price depends on the number of pictures.

Device updates and recycling at the day activity centre
In addition to digital support, the digital assistants at the day activity centre also carry out device update work and recycling. At the day activity centre, the digital assistants help customers clean their devices, identify faults, and provide guidance on how to use devices.
The digital assistants also have their own dismantling station at the day activity centre, where customers can bring broken or unused electronic devices to be dismantled. The digital assistants take old devices apart and deliver them for recycling on the customer’s behalf. All kinds of electronic devices can be brought to the dismantling station, such as phones, computers, televisions, radios, and CD or cassette players.
Services at the day activity centre are free of charge, but please make sure to contact about your visit to the day activity centre or the delivery of devices to the dismantling station in advance.

The establishment of digital service points is part of the subproject “Asukkaiden digituki ja ennaltaehkäisy” (Digital support and preventive measures for residents) within the Central Ostrobothnia project Kestävä kasvu (Sustainable growth). The goal of the subproject is to build up and implement the service model Tartu digiin! The service model includes offering the residents in the area digital support at digital service points that are suitable for this.
