Vaccinations for travellers
It is recommended that if you plan to travel, you contact us as soon as the travel itinerary and schedule are confirmed, as completing the vaccination programme and developing a sufficient immunity may take 1–2 months.
The content on this page
Travellers must complete the digital medical history form concerning vaccinations, i.e. Matkailijan rokotusten esitiedot. Please fill in the form as soon as your travel itinerary and schedule are confirmed, as completing the vaccination programme and developing sufficient immunity may take 1–2 months. The form is in the My Healthcare service. The form will be processed within three working days.
Identification in the My Healthcare service is done via the online service Suomi.fi. For identification, you need online banking codes or a mobile certificate.
A nurse will check which vaccinations you need based on the information you have provided and will notify you via the My Healthcare service once your individual vaccination plan has been drawn up. The vaccination plan is tailored according to your travel destination and the duration of your trip. You can view your vaccination plan and any prescriptions in MyKanta within about a week.
If you are unable to complete the digital medical history form, please contact the maternity and child health clinic via the chat or by phone by calling the centralized phone service, or call a health service point for seniors (senioreiden terveyspiste).
If you already have the necessary prescriptions, or if you only require booster doses of basic vaccinations and do not need a vaccination plan, you can book a vaccination appointment to a maternity and child health clinic via the chat or by phone by calling the centralized phone service, or by calling a health service point for seniors (senioreiden terveyspiste).
Vaccinations are administered
- at maternity and child health clinics
- health service points for seniors
- at pharmacies. You can find more information on the pharmacies’ websites.
You can check your vaccination information in MyKanta, on a vaccination or child health clinic card you have been given as a child or by making a digital request for information. After moving, the information can, if necessary, be requested from the healthcare services of the other wellbeing services county.
Everyone is responsible for making sure their vaccinations are up to date.
It is recommended that you find out about what additional vaccinations are required for your trip well in advance, around two months before departure. Immunity develops gradually and may require several doses. Vaccinations not included in the national vaccination programme are usually at your own expense and require a prescription from a doctor.
