The actions to control infectious diseases includes vaccination, prevention and early detection of infectious diseases, measures necessary to investigate or control an epidemic, and the examination, treatment and medical rehabilitation of persons who have an infectious disease or are suspected of having an infectious disease.

Coronavirus vaccination

A coronavirus vaccination can be booked online or by phone. Vaccinations are given in accordance with instructions from The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare THL.

Infectious diseases

Detection and treatment of infectious diseases is carried out in the team at the doctors’ and nurses’ reception in your area. An infectious diseases nurse and the health care stations are responsible for giving advice and guidance when it comes to infectious diseases.

Vaccinations included in the national vaccination programme

In matters concerning vaccinations, you can contact the nearest maternity, child health and birth control clinic or health care station in Soite’s area.

Seasonal influenza vaccinations

Influenza vaccines are provided free of charge under the national programme to those for whom influenza is an essential health risk or who gain significant health benefits from the vaccination. Traditionally, influenza vaccinations take place every year starting in late autumn.

Vaccinations for travellers

It is advisable to contact the health care centre as soon as the travel programme and schedule have been decided, as it may take 1-2 months to implement the vaccination programme and to develop adequate vaccination protection.
