At Saraste, the child and the family are given support in their situation and their situation is assessed together with the parents and the child and the child’s or adolescent’s social worker. The unit offers harmonizing care for the child and an assessment of the family’s and child’s need of further support. The child and the family are given support in their situation and their situation is assessed in cooperation with the child, the child’s family, the child’s own social worker and the personnel at Saraste. The unit is located in Kokkola an offers substitute care mainly for children and adolescents who live in Soite’s area.
Saraste does multi-professional cooperation with other units in Soite, and the child can get support from for example health care services and substance abuse services during the placement. Cooperation with the schools in the area is also an important part of the work. If an adolescent has hade care relationships before the placement (e.g. with therapists), it is possible to continue with them during the placement.
