Health examinations

Soite’s health care stations, maternity and child health clinics and school health services carry out different kinds of health examinations. Health examinations are performed to assess and support the ability to function, to assess the need of rehabilitation, to promote a healthy lifestyle and to give information about protecting oneself against health risks.

Medical certificate services

If necessary, health care centre doctors write medical certificates at the receptions, for example for a driving license, a new job or an insurance.

Health examinations when unemployed

Health examinations are organised for all unemployed persons who are not provided student or occupational health care. Examinations are carried out at different stages of unemployment.

Conscription call-up examinations

A young person of conscription call-up age should undergo a preliminary health examination before conscription call-ups in the autumn. The preliminary health examinations for call-ups are carried out for general upper secondary school students and students in vocational education.

Health examinations for informal caregivers

All informal caregivers who have entered into a formal agreement on informal care with Soite are invited by letter or phone to a health examination.

General health examinations for persons of working age

A person of working age can choose to make an appointment for a health examination by contacting the reception of the health care centre in their area. Soite’s health care stations offer services to residents of the area in matters related to primary health care. A health check can also be done in the Omaolo service.

Health examinations for different age groups

Health examinations are organised for children under school age, schoolchildren, students and seniors, taking into account the issues that are relevant at each stage of life.
